My name is James Rice (my friends call me Jim). I’ve lived in Elyria , Ohio since 2002. I have been involved in music since I was 6, when I started playing guitar. At that age through High School I played in varying venues such as a local country music jamboree in the Wheeling Wva area and High school variety shows and also local shows in the Ohio Valley. When my dad became a minister in the early 70s, my Mom and Dad and I sang in churches known as The Upper Room Singers. After graduation in 1977, I started a Contemporary Christian Band that was together for about a year. Because of college commitments by the other members, we split up. In the 80s I started playing occasionally in a club in Canton, Ohio playing country & classic rock. It was there that the band gave me the name Montgomery Jim (at the time I also worked for Montgomery Ward). I did this til 2002. In 2008, I decided to go in another direction. I started Montgomery Jim’s DJ service on the advice of many of my friends because of my knowledge of the music industry. 

My wife, Donna, helps me at every event. We work at Weddings, Sweet 16 parties, Anniversary parties, and much more. We also do Karaoke. And around Christmas I even have Santa Claus DJ your party.
